    • Cultural capital refers to the knowledge, attributes, tastes and abilities of the middle class in comparison to the working class
    • Bourgeoisie views the middle class as 'capital' because it gives advantages ti those who posses it
    • Middle class children more likely to develop intellectual interests and an understanding of what the education system is to succeed
    • The working class finds that school de-evaluates their culture as inferior and their capital leads to exam failure, some pupils get the message that school isnt for them thus early leaving and truanting
    • Education system run by the middle class so middle class students therefore working to their interests
