        • BERNSTEIN - W/C = restricted code (limited, short, predictable) M/C = elaborate code (wide, complex)
      • Intelluctual Development
        • DOUGLAS - working kids = lower acheivement = lack of educational activities
      • Attitudes & Values
        • BARRY SUGARMAN - working class subculture
          • FATALISM - whatever will be, will be
          • COLLECTIVISM - group loyalties
          • IMMEDIATE GRATIFICATION - pleasure now
          • PRESENT TIME ORIENTATION - now is more important
