    • Reducing Sugars
      • Bendict's Test: Add Benedicts reagent, heat to 90 degrees, colour change from blue to red.
    • Non-reducing Sugars
      • Benedicts test: same as reducing but no colour change, add HCl and neutralise with NaHCO3, colour change from blue to red
    • Lipids
      • Emulsion test: Crush sample, add ethanol, shake, add water, shake, white emulsion.
    • Starch
      • Iodine test: Add iodine solution, colour change from orange to blue/black.
    • Proteins
      • Biuret test: Add biuret solution, colour change from blue to liliac.
