- Reducing Sugars
- Bendict's Test: Add Benedicts reagent, heat to 90 degrees, colour change from blue to red.
- Non-reducing Sugars
- Benedicts test: same as reducing but no colour change, add HCl and neutralise with NaHCO3, colour change from blue to red
- Lipids
- Emulsion test: Crush sample, add ethanol, shake, add water, shake, white emulsion.
- Starch
- Iodine test: Add iodine solution, colour change from orange to blue/black.
- Proteins
- Biuret test: Add biuret solution, colour change from blue to liliac.
- Reducing Sugars
