systematic focus of attention on various muscle groups throughout the body.the individual progresses through the body, tensing and then releasing the tension from each muscle group in turn.

What are the different phases of PMR?
phase 1: 15 min PMR, twice a day. Phase 2: release only stage, 5-6 minutes, Phase 3:time reduced from 5-7 min to 2-3 mins, with the use of the instruction relax, phase 4:the time taken is reduced even further, phase 5: practiced in specific situation
