What is the function of an enzyme?
An enzyme is a biological catalyst that increases the rate of a reaction by creating a bonding site for reactants to bond, react and be released on it's active site.

To preform OXIDATION and REDUCTION reactions (e.g. hydrogenation)

To aid in the addition or removal of WATER

Catalyse the transfer of atoms from ONE PART of a molecule TO ANOTHER

Break chemical bonds OTHER than HYDROLYSIS and DECARBOXYLASES (removes COOH)
