What is design?
Finding the right balance between creating a product or service that people desire to have, that they can afford to buy and that works reliably. Design can help cut production costs if a product is designed efficiently.

It consists of aesthetics (the look, feel, smell or taste), function (how it works, is it reliable), economic manufacture (is the design simple enough for it to be made quickly and efficiently and therefore relatively cheaply).
