Genie was isolated in a dark room by her alcoholic and abusive parents. She was found however, they could not enculture her.

> Industrial Revolution, Civil rights movement, Secularisation. Most recent example of Social Change is Gay Marriage 2013 Act which showed movement in terms of respect for homosexuality.

Showed low correlation between genetics and deviant or criminal behaviour between separated from birth twins with criminal records. This suggests that behaviour is learned through the environment.

Existence of a variety of cultural or ethnic groups within society.. For example in Asian Culture it is a norm to eat with chopsticks.

View that culture should be judge by its own standards rather than compared to another culture.
