What happens if plaque forms in your arteries?
Plaque in the arteries makes them narrower. It means your heart has to work harder to push blood through them. So it puts a strain on your heart and can sometimes cause a blockage

How does a blockage happen from plaque in the arteries?
Sometimes, plaque breaks away from the artery wall, a clot forms and the artery is blocked.
