When do children show a preference in which hand they use?
many show some preferences for using one hand or the other by the age of 18 months, and most have a clearly defined preference by 3 years. some are not obviously left or right-handed until they are 4 years or more.

most children are right-hand, but a few can use both hands equally (ambidextrous). some will use one hand for some activities and one for other activities. 10% or boys and slightly fewer girls are left-handed- they can have more difficulty

What would happen if you were to force a left-handed child to use their right hand?
it may result in stuttering and difficulties in learning to read and wrtie. this is because the same part of the brain is used for handedness and language.

Why is swimming important?
swimming is excellent exercise as it develops muscles and coordination, improves breathing. gives child confidence and is a important safety skill in learn.

Why is swimming beneficial for children with special needs?
gives them a sense of achievement in being like other children, develops courage, self reliance and improves stamina.
