What us urbanisation/ urban growth?
The increasing number of people living in towns and cities

Why do LIC's generally have faster rates of urbanisation? Why are HIC's slower?
LIC's are faster because there are higher rates of rural to urban migration as people still live in rural areas, high rates of natural increase. HIC's slower, majority of people are already living in towns and cities.

What is rural to urban migration?
When people move from the countryside to larger towns and cities.

What is natural increase?
when there are more people being born than there are dying

What is a push and pull factor?
Push - something that pushes you out of a rural area Pull - something that attracts you to the town or city

Overall there are 260 people per square kilometre ranging from 500o people/km squared in London to less than 10 people per kilometre in Scotland.

London and Birmingham are found in lowland areas, which are easy to build on, some cities are on the coast as it provides a business of fish and tourism, also brings mining industries
