What is cystic fibrosis?
An inherited condition which clogs the lungs and digestive system with thick mucus

Recurring chest infection, difficulty putting on weight, frequents coughs and diarrhoea

What is brittle bone disease?
A condition that weakens bones, making them fragile and more likely to break

Family history, long term use of oral corticosteriods and heavy smoking/drinking

What is Phenylketonuria?
PKU means that sufferers cannot break down the amino acid phenylanine, which then builds up in the blood and brain

They may feel self conscious and embarrassed, due to suffering with a musty smell that they cannot help

An inherite disease that damages certain nerve cells in the brain

A genetic condition that causes some level of learning disability and certain physical characteristics

It may isolate an individual as they suffer with communication problems

What is Duchenne muscular dystrophy?
Genetic conditions that gradually cause the muscles to weaken, leading to an increase in the level of disability

Being in a wheelchair can stop them from going different places and doing different things with friends

People with colour vision deficiency find it difficult to identify and distuingish certain colours

As they cannot see what others do, this can make them frustrated and confused
