Plants

1) Multicellular
2) Have chloroplast for photosynthesis
3) Have cell walls made of cellulose
4) Stores carbohydrates such as glucose or starch

1) Multicellular
2) No chloroplast - don't photosynthesise
3) No cell walls
4) Most have some form of nervous coordination so they can respond rapidly to their environment
5) Often store carbohydrates in the form of glycogen

* Insects (e.g. houseflies, mosquitos)

1) SOME are single-celled
2) Others have a body called mycelium made up of hyphae (thread-like structures) - these hyphae contain a lot of nuclei
3) Don't photosynthesise
4) Cell walls made of chitin
5) Feed by saprotrophic nutrition: secret extracellular

* Yeast - a single-celled fungus
* Mucor - a multi-cellular fungus that has a mycelium and hyphae

2) Microscopic
3) Some have chloroplast

* Amoeba (animal-cell-like) - live in pond water
