Pneumothorax.. What is it and radiographic appearances.
This is when there is air in the pleural cavity. Air rises up and so there it is present in the apices on a erect CXR. On supine CXR it is present in bases... deep sulcus sign. Lack of lung markings.

Pleural effusion... What is it and radiographic appearances.
Fluid in the pleural cavity, causes Blunting of costophrenic angles, mediastinal shift and fluid appears in the horizontal fissures on CXR

Pulmonary oedema... What is it and radiographic appearances.
Fluid within the alveolar. Often caused by congestive heart failure. Increased cardiothoracic ratio. Mottled appearances on CXR. Fluid in fissures.

Emphysema... What is it and radiographic appearances.
Abnormal enlargement of airspaces. Causes Hyper-inflation, Barallel chest

Asthma... What is it and radiographic appearances.
inflammation of the airways and reversible airway obstruction due to airway hyper-reactivity. Causes hyperinflation and bronchial wall thickening on CXR

COPD
Collective of obstructive airway diseases. Increased bronchovascular markings.

Bronchiectasis
Abnormal dilation of bronchial tree. Causes sputum in bronchus and haemoptysis

Atelectasis
Incomplete expansion of the lungs reduces pleural pressure and can be caused by air-way obstruction

Difficulty breathing, SOB

Difficulty speaking
