Challenges faced by cog methods

?
Name 5 challenges faced by cognitive methods.
Ethical constraints, localisation of brain functions, modular versus network organisation of the brain, invasive methods and cost effectiveness.
1 of 6
Define ethical constraints.
We must be careful when dealing with the brain to not cause harm since it is so sensitive and to be cautious of how we deal with the data gathered.
2 of 6
Explain localisation of brain functions.
Be careful when using information that infers brain locations and functions. It isn't always accurate since the brain is full of complex networks.
3 of 6
Explain modular versus network organisation of the brain.
Important to think of what approach to use when tackling brain studies, are they separate areas (modular) or interconnected (network)
4 of 6
Explain invasive v non invasive methods.
Must think what sort of technique we want to use and the level of invasiveness we and the participants are willing to take.
5 of 6
Explain cost effectiveness
Some methods are much more costly than others, we should analyse which would be most cost effective depending on our sample
