Bearings
Bearings are used to reduce friction and decrease the wear of materials at their joints e.g. where a rotating shaft is being supported, so the bearings reduce friction and allow shafts to spin more efficiently.
Plain bearings - In its simplest form, can be a support that holds a rotating shaft. To reduce the wear of the support, a sleeve of a bearing material is used. This is called a bush. Most common material for bushes is bronze which is 90% copper and 10% tin. The disadvantage of using a bush is that they wear out over time and have to be removed and replaced…
