Executive:

The term executive refers to the govt, who makes key decisions and run the country day to day, in the UK system the party with the most seats in the HoC is typically invited to form a govt. 

The Govt - made up of the PM, the Cabinet and junior ministers is drawn from individuals who sit in Parliament, usually winning party. PM = leader of the party and has the power to appoint the other members of the govt. Chancellor of Exchequer/Foreign Secretary and Home secretary - there are many more govt departments. 

Main roles of the Executive:

Lot of power within the UK system and most legislation is introduced to parliament by the govt, controls the agenda and time of HoC. Govt proposes an annual budget setting out how it will spend money in the coming year - broad decisions like edu/health/transport…
