Rises in Germany and flows eastwards to the Black Sea.
Waters touch 8 countries
A dam in Romania broke on the 30th January.
Cyanide compounds entered streams which flowed into the Tisza River and then into the Danube.
The Romanian authorities reported the incident on the 31st January 2000
