Christianity and resurrection

-The christian belief in the resurrection of the body is based upon the idea that Jesus rose from the dead.

-This is why it is important to most Christians to believe that the resurrection was a physical event and Jesus had more than a spiritual body.

-Jesus' apostle Paul defended bodily resurrection in Corinthians 15:12-14. The resurrecton body of Jesus had different powers; he walked through walls, wasn't easily recognisable, yet was physical enough to require food and drink. This leads to the belief that our resurrected bodies are different to our physical ones.

-"So it will be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; it is sown in dishonour, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body"

-The resurrection of the body occurs at the end of time when Jesus returns. The Bible indicates that the dead in Christ will rise first followed by those who are stlll alive by the time of his coming (1 Thessalonians 4:16). This may prompt the question of what happens prior to the resurrection of
