Eclipses and the Moon

Moon reflects Light from the Sun - the Half Facing the Sun is Lit Up, Other Half in Shadow.

The Moon orbits Earth and we can see Different Phases:

Full Moon =  Whole Lit Up Side Facing Earth  -    New Moon = Whole Shadowed Side Facing Earth

Other Phases are inbetween these Extremes.

Two Main Types of Eclipse:

Lunar Eclipse: In Orbit the Moon can pass into the Earths Shadow - which blocks most Sunlight from reaching the Moon…
