Language 

  • Simile - "silence between them like a thread to hold" Thread is an invisible connection between them, thin and can eaisly be broken, like silence, but they choose not to break it.  Contentment?
  • Personification - "Chastity faces them" As if its a person confronting them at night when its most obvious they're not together anymore.
  • Metaphor - "Time itself a feather" Time is soft & fragile and they're old & Near death.

Structure 

  • Irregular rhyme scheme - unpredictability of relationship.
