- An infectious disease caused by a bacterium callled MYCOBACTERIUM TUBERCULOSIS
- Symptoms: cough with chest pains, tiredness, no appetite, weight loss, blood in cough
- Transmitted by coughs as it is a DROPLET INFECTION
- Bacteria are breathed in & invade cells of alveoli & bronchioles. Here they multiply to form a lump called TUBERCLES where the bacteria remain alive but dormant.
