Phonetics = study of pronounciation of sound, e.g, spin - does it sound like 'sp' or 'sb'
Phonology =study of rules governing the use of sounds and how those sounds are organised in a language
Phoneme =smallist unit of meaningful sound. Take prefix to 'at', 'b', 'c', 'm'. All introduce meaningful differences - bat, cat, mat.
In an analysis of a text you may need to refer to phonetics.
