Human Evolution.

Australopithecus Africanus lived in Africa between 3.3 and 2.1 million years ago.It has been argued that the genus **** emerged from the Australopithecines.

Mainly vegetarian.

No evidence for the use of tools or fire.

Social organisation (troops), growth patterns and lifestyle have more in commom with apes than humans.

**** Habilis lived in Africa around 2.4 to 1.4 million years ago.

linked to deposits of stone tools.

Unclear whether **** habilis was a scavenger or a hunter.

**** Erectus lived 1.9 million to 700,000 years ago.

Fossils found in Africa and Asia.

They're the longest living human species (so far)

Probably the first **** species to have spread beyond Africa.

Considerable variation in the fossil record.
