All multicellular organisms need a transport system, and in humans it is the blood
Blood has four main components: They are:
- Plasma
- Platelets
- Red blood cells
- White blood cells
Plasma is the Liquid Bit of Blood:
It's basically blood minus the blood cells, Plasma is a pale yellow liquid which carries just about everything that needs transporting around your body
- Red and white blood cells and platelets
- Digested food products (like glucose and amino acids) from the gut to all the body cells
- Carbon dioxide form the body cells to the lungs
- Urea from the liver to the kidneys 9where its removed in the urine
- Hormones which act as chemical messengera
- Heat energy
