Electronic systems provide a function to products.

Electronic systems can be broken down into subsystems of INPUT, PROCESS and OUTPUTS.

The process subsystem recieves signals from the inputs and responds to control the outputs.

Process subsystems use a microcontroller which is a mini computer programmed to perform a specific task.

INPUTS

Inputs can be digital like a switch.  It detects a YES/NO situation such as 'is the button pressed?'  Yes the light will go on.  If no the light stays off.
