Kroonenbergs study into cross culture variation in attachment

Procedure:

  • carried out a meta analysis of 32 studies in 8 different countries using the strange situation
  • Western Cultures (US, GB & Germany)
  • Non-Western Cultures (Japan, China, Israel)

Findings:

  • Secure attachment was the most common in all cultures
  • Western Cultures - the most common
