Explain the control of blood glucose concentration, including the roles of glucagon, insulin and å and ßcells in the pancreatic islets.
Pancreas - exocrine and endocrine gland. Found below stomach.
Exocrine cells - produce digestive enzymes --> released into small intestine via the pancreatic duct
Glucose is absorbed from digested food, then used in cellular respiration. It can also be converted to glucogen and stored!
Levels of of glucose could go up after a meal and down after exercise…
