Arguments Against Miracles

The Science Argument:

• Because our understanding of natural laws is incomplete and we continue to try and develop an understanding, science argues these may be natural explanations for events at the moment which violate the laws of nature.

• In the past, events that were not understood such as earthquakes were considered acts of God. Now these can be explained naturally in a scientific manner. As scientific knowledge develops, there are fewer events that could be seen to require a divine explanation. 

• This view that religion simply is the explanation for those things that are not understood by science is referred to as 'God of the gaps' this is rejected by scientists and say this is false…
