A war is Just if:

  • The cause is just (trying to remove injustice)
  • By the authority of the UN
  • To restore peace
  • Last resort (after non-violent methods have failed)
  • Reasonable chance of success
  • Avoids killing civilians
  • Methods are proportional to the cause
