Objectives in RDI

emotional referencing - improving verbal and nonverbal communication skills that help the child to understand how others feel.

soical coordination - controlling own behaviour to fit others emotions.

declarative language - developing the type of verbal and nonverbal communication that allows the child to express interest in something, invite soicial interaction, share emotions and coordinate their behaviour with others.

flexible thinking - this is the ablility to adopt quickly, smoothly and calmly to changing situations, even unpredictable ones.

relational information processing - putting problems into a wider context and solving them even when they do not have an obviuous right or wrong answer.

foresight and hindsight - foresight = anticipating what might happen as a result of your behaviour. Hindsight = allows you to recall an example of what actually happened once when you were not friendly. putting the two together allows the child with ASD to predict the future outocomes based on past experince
