Lack of Military Skill

Outside Constantinople - army refused to wait for reaining crusader forces and crossed Asia Minor - ANNIHILATED BY TURKS

WALTER SANS AVOIR AND PETER THE HERMIT-While Walters army passedthrough Germany and Hungary the army plundered the Belgrade area, drawing reprisals upon themselves.

"            "- ARMIES JOINED AT CONSTANTINOPLE the crusaders enagaed the turks at once and were cut to epices, Peter returned to Constantinople but WALTER  was KILLED in 21st October 1096 allegedly peirced by Kilij Arslan and his army.

EMICHO- army travelled down the RHINE reaced the DANUBE- followed to HUNGARY. Here they ran out of money and supllies and pilaged Hungarian land. - MOST OF THE ARMY KILLED BY HUNGARIANS- rest split to join other crusader armies. Emicho went home to family and was scorned for not furfilling vow and capturing Jerusalem

Poor Organisation

CONSTANTINOPLE-advosed to wait for professional crusaders but impatience of crusaders meant they went ahead without them. Alot of enthusiasts.

COMMANDERS AND EMPERORS- werent prepared for the peoples crusade and didnt know they were coming, didnt have supllies were pleased.

GROUPS SPLIT- and went different ways, amking attacks on them somewhat easier for Turkish enemies and Muslims.
