Health- is defined as a state of complete mental, physical and social well-being; not merely the absence of illness or infirmity.

Fitness- is the ability to meet the demands of the environment.

Mental benefits include:

  • improved confidence
  • relief of stress/tension and stress related illness

Physical benefits include:

  • losing weight
  • improved posture
  • improved body shape

Social benefits include:

  • meeting people
  • making friends

Performer-  For Pleasure, success 

Official- to Improve your knowledge of the rules. Can still contribute when unable to play. Allows teachers to teach rather than umpire/referee

Coach- Improves self-confidence, gain a qualification. can Improve their performance

Captain- Develop leadership skills. Encouragement, help the coach

Leader- Gain qualification, improve self worth and Provide role model, encourage participation

stage 1- foundation- developing basic skills and movement, normally at school level

stage 2- participation- choose to go regularly and start to develop more skills

stage 3- performance- this is you start training seriously and are committed to playing sports. you might play for teams or club and perform and club or regional level. 

stage 4- elite- highly skilled athletes have reach a level of excellence
