What is HIV/AIDS

  • HIV- Human Immunodeficiency Virus
  • AIDS- Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome
  • HIV- Virus damages immune system so you are unable to fight other infections

It is spread in four ways:

  • Unprotected sex with someone infected
  • By blood
  • Using infected needles
  • From mother to child at birth
  • Drugs are available for HIV which postpone the onset of AIDS
  • No cure for HIV/AIDS but drugs that can delay the development of AIDS exists
