Henry VII nobility

Henry VII had to get the nobility on his side. 

  • Limited the number of new Lords - kept the amount at a number he could handle.
  • ORDER OF THE GARTER - rewarded to loyal nobles and cost Henry VII nothing. 

Acts of Attainder, Bonds and Recognizance's

Acts of Attainder - a family's LAND was taken for DISOBEDIENCE. increased the crown's revenue. 

Bonds - written obligations - would pay a penalty if demands were not met. 

Recognizance's -  previous debt or misconduct towards the King.
