Weimar Germany 1919-1923
Germany from 1919-1933 is usually reffered to as the Weimar republic or Weimar Germany.
Article 48 of the constitution gave the president emergency power to rule by decree without the Reichstag, and even to suspend the constitution. The presidet was to be directly elected every seven years.
Many Germans angry- treaty of Versailles- blamed new government for signing reffered to them as 'November Criminals' 'stabbed Germany in the back'
