GCSE - Religious Studies - Forgiveness and Reconciliation

Christians believe that forgiveness and reconciliations is good and that people should always forgive others. Jesus said if people don't forgive those who sinned against them, God won't forgive their sins.The lord prayer says ‘forgive us are trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us’. Jesus taught love thy neighbour and if a person does not forgive another they will not be following Jesus teachings as they won’t be loving their neighbour.

Hindu’s believe in forgiveness and reconciliation as this will bring them good karma and make their soul less bitter. They also believe that the person that did wrong will already be punished through receiving bad karma so they don’t need to hold a grudge against them so can forgive them.
