Industrial Development

2. Industrial Development

Many LEDC's started independence with low levels of indutrialisation. Industrial production, employment and trade have grown at a massive rate in NIC's. Major driving forces in this expansion of many branch plants in LEDC's is the globalisation and growth of MNC's. Secondary industry is projected to contribute 25% to the GNP of India by 2020, the largest growths in metal, rubber, petrochemicals and machinery . Rises in consumerism has an impact on our resources.
