Enzyme Inhibitors
Inhibitors basically work to hinder the enzymes work, reducing the rate of their reaction. They can be
found naturally but can also be used artificially in products such as pesticides and drugs. There are two
types:
Competitive Inhibitors
A competitive inhibitor has a similar shape to that of the substrate molecule and so can fit into the active site
of the enzyme, therefore, it competes with the real substrate molecules for the active site, so the reaction is
