Some of the rights you have at your school might be different
to the rights of students in other schools. But you, and every
child in the world, all share some basic rights.
In 1989, 191 countries agreed on a
set of rights that all children and
young people should have, to make
sure that they are happy, safe, and
well-looked after.
This set of rights is called the
Convention of the Rights of the Child.

together in1945 to form the
United Nations (UN).
The aim of the UN is to promote peace and
