Reducing Fertility (The Pill)

Advantages

  • It's over 99% effective.
  • It also reduces the risk of getting some cancers.
  • Side effects aren't that common.

Disadvantages

  • It isn't 100% effective - there's still a very slight chance of getting pregnant.
  • It can cause side effects like headaches, nausea, irregular menstrual bleeding and fluid retention.
  • It doesn't protect against STDs (Sexually Transmitted Diseases) .

Evaluation

The advantages and disadvantages of the pill are pretty equally split. Of course there are more advantages and disadvantages than this but the ones listed are the most important and common. Overall the pill is a preference thing, someone think the pill is a miracle drug and others think it's not. Religious beliefs towards the pill are quite strong meaning people such as Catholics (not all of them) refuse to use a contraceptive pill due to beliefs.
