Indians and Early Settlers

Similarities

  • Women in both cultures had to stay at home and take care of the children, but they were also both used to living tough with little and were not week.
  • The indians and most of the white settlers followed a religion.
  • Only the men would go to war.

Differences

  • They believed that the Great Spirit could not be described as a human, unlike the Jewish. Muslim and Christian faith.
  • The used oral history instead of books. Their stories were past down from generations.
  • The indians thought that it was braver to touch your enemy and run away than to kill them from afar. The army though differently as they would shoot with cannons and long range guns.
  • Most of the white people settle permanently whereas the indians were nomadic.

Overall comparison

Overall the Indians and the white settlers were very different, as they have very different beliefs and conditions. There similarities were more to do with the way they treat each other and the roles and positions of different people.
