Overall summary

Although many changes to the role of children have been positively influential, such as the growth to childrens rights and sfaety, many of these provide a knock-back effect. Due to the longer periods of education, children are dependent on their parents/guardians for longer which can cause levels of tension in the family home. The longer they are subjected to dependency, the longer they experience high levels of adult control e.g curfews. What can be seen as "support" can be viewed as "surveillance". Also many children experience the divisions of class, ethnicity and gender which are very inequal.
