Autocratic & Democratic

Advantages

  • Autocratic - quick decision making is guaranteed
  • Autocratic - good for inexperienced workers
  • Autocratic - decision making, planning or organising needs no initiative
  • Democratic - workers or subordinates are consulted or participate in the decision making process hence feel satisfied
  • Democratic - workers are aware of what is happening in the organisation and thus they take interest in producing more and more
  • Democratic - subordinates get full opportunity to utilise their capabilities

Disadvantages

  • Autocratic - cause frustration and resentment because the system is so dependent on the leader and because of the non-participation if workers
  • Autocratic - No motivation towards employees
  • Autocratic - Employees are told what to do so no creative ideas
  • Democratic - time consuming, requires long discussion
  • Democratic - everyone tries to have their say and mould situation according to their liking, which hinders progress
  • Democratic - can turn into a disastrous condition in times of crisis when there is an urgent need of definite and strong direction

Evaluation
