  • Both unsure of what to do, both want to fight  are also held back by other things. Aeneas is held back by his love for Dido, Achilles held back by his pride and hubris

Differences

  • he first consults other leaders of the people before making a decision; he does not abuse his power. - Aeneas. Achilles leaves and does not listen to Nestor.
  • Aeneas' people never question judgment, Achilles' people ask him to come back - thereby ignoring his judgment.
  • Aeneas is away in Pallenteum, his spirit and leadership controls the warriors under his command. Achilles' team begin to lose the war - Agamemnon even suggests they go home.

Overall comparison

Achilles and Aeneas are similar as they are both great warriors who wish to upkeep their family's reputation. They differ because Aeneas is a lot more respectful and acts less in his own interest than Achilles does when faced with a dilemma
