  • Why are Oceans important?
    • It provides the air we breathe.
    • It changes our climate by soaking up energy and distributing it all around the world.
    • It provides food; sea food or other ingredients from the sea to make other foods. Eg. peanut butter.
    • It provides medicine that can help fight diseases such as cancer or arthritis.
    • It provides us with entertainment such as fishing, kayaking or whale watching.
    • Trading is many done through transport going over the ocean.
    • The ocean provides animals with shelter and protection as it is slightly alkaline.
    • The ocean helps absorb the CO2 and emissions we humans create keeping the air clean.
