      • It is needed for the digestion of food and absorption of nutrients from the small intestine into the body

      • It helps the skin keep healthy and moist
    • Sources
      • Drinking plain water throughout the day
      • Water is found naturally in fruits, veg ect
      • Water is added to many foods such as soft drinks and breads ect
    • Deficiency
      • Feel thirsty
      • Get a headache
      • The urine becomes very dark in colour
      • Feel weak and sick
      • The body becomes overheated
      • Wrinkled skin
      • Feel confused
      • Changes in blood pressure and heart rate
    • Excess
      • Drinking too much water can cause minerals to become over-diluted
      • This can affect the vital organs and could be fatal
    • Amount needed
      • 1-2 liters of water per day
      • 6-8 medium-sized glasses of water
