    • How do the early councils affect Christians today?
      • Council of Nicea: The Son is eternally begotten from the Father. Son has no beginning or end but is eternal. The father and son have always existed together: co-eternal.
      • Council of Constantinople: The HS is the Lord, the giver of life. He proceeds from the Father. He with the father and the son is worshipped and glorifies. He spoke through the prophets.

      • St Augustine of Hippo: There are 3 persons in 1 God. Theya re united in God's love. God's expression unites all 3 people in love.
      • Catherine LaCugna: God is relational. The Father begets the Son. This means the son comes from the father. The HS is the bond that unites them.
