- Adduction is away from body, sporting example is crucifixion position in rings routine, gymnastics (adduction in shoulders)
- Abduction is towards your body, a gymnast will abduct the legs at the hip during a parallel bar routine
- Plantar Flexion or Dorsiflexion Only occurs at ankles
- Plantar flexion is pointing your toes. Ballet dancers point their toes
- Dorsiflexion - the foot moves towards the shin as if you are pulling your toes up.
- Flexion + Extension Occurs at shoulder, elbow, hips and knee
