            • prefer to live in sheltered housing where they rent a small flat in a communal area, these provide care and support

          • bring the end to the dying process eg; terminally ill people

              • when a person has made their wishes clear and chosen to end their lie it involves a third person i.e. doctor

                  • may be a chance of recovery, a cure may be discovered later, family and friends may be upset, if its allowed old people may do it because they feel a burden, life is a gift and we shouldn't play god

              • this is where someone deliberately acts to end someone's life as oppose to helping
            • involuntary
              • this is hem a sick person who's too ill to make decisions so a doctor or family member will make the decision eg withdrawing a feeding tube from a person who's brain dead
            • passive
              • letting someone go by withdrawing all forms of treatment
          • Christianity:
            • humans are gods creations god gives life so only he can take it away
              • everything that happens in this world happens at the time god choses. he sets the time for birth and the time for death
            • humans are made in gods image so thier lives should be respected
              • god made humankind in his own image
            • we must take responsibility for others, Jesus said we should love each other so they believe in respecting our lives and those of other people
              • none of us lives for himself only none us dies for himself only
            • Christians should not fear death or suffering
              • I have the strength to face all conditions by the power that Christ gives me

            • a person has the right to chose, its their own boy, life should be happy if you're not happy there's no point, to assist someone do what they want is love not violence
          • islam:
            • allah decides how long we live
              • and no person can ever die except by Allah's leave  and at an appointed term
      • Buddhists: respected for their wisdom and experience, they believe they have a responsibility to look after tem which is a privilege and helps you gain good karma
      • Christians: elderly should be respected because they're vulnerable, should be able to be independent, churches provide facilities and help including holy communion at home or residential care
        • respect thy father and mother
      • Hinduism: 1 of the 5 duties is to serve and care for their parents the eldest son is responsible as he's considered the head of the family and caring for them gives good karma

      • a hospice is a place where care is given to people with a terminal illness it gives families a break from looking after their loved ones
      • aims
        • to offer care and support, relieve pain, help patients face up to death, care for emotional needs of fiends and families
