    • Victorian Gentlemen were obessed with their reputation
      • They would walk through public places to keep up their reputation as a gentleman
        • How is this shown in the novel?
          • Mr. Utterson and Mr. Enfield would go to regularly walk.
    • Victorian Gentlemen would also control what they say to others so it wouldn't affect their reputation
      • Furthermore, They kept their deep desires for things like sex and alcohol as called them "Snobbish" in public.
        • But however, when the night-falls all of these so called gentlemen would go this kind of places to fulfill their desires as a result they were more likely to be a victim of blackmailing.
          • These Gentlemen were also ready to pay large sums of money to make them shut their mouth.
            • How is this shown in this novel?
              • Jekyll has taken a step further by actually changing himself to another person (Hyde) before going to Snobbish places such as public houses.
